Hindi Film Agneepath is a (2012) Bollywood Indian Hindi action thriller film produced by Karan Johar and directed by Karan Mlahotra. It is a remake of a 1990 classic film of the same name by Amitabh Bachan.  Bollywood super star  Hrithik Roshan plays the lead role of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, Sanjay Dutt plays the role of the Kancha Cheena. ( played by Amitabh Bachchan and Danny Denzongpa in 1990 Agneepath)  and Priyanka Chopra as the female lead. Other cast include Rishi Kapoor, Om Puri and Zarina Wahab etc.  Agneepath highly positive reviews from critics.

Story:

Agneepath story starts  in an island village of Mandwa. Village school teacher, Dinanath Chauhan (Chetan Pandit), also  highly respected by the villagers tries to dissuade them from giving away their lands on long neverending lease to Kancha Cheena (Sanjay Dutt), evil son of the village head who plans to start a drug mafia. After Knowing this, Kancha decides to get rid of the school teacher some how. He makes a evil plan which agitates all the villagers against the school teacher. Eventuallu Kancha take the support of the villagers to kill the teacher by hanging him to death from a tree. Chetan Pandits Young son Vijay Chahan (Hrithik Roshan) witneses tragic death of his father. Isolated form village Vijay Chauhan along with his pregnant mother Suhasini Chauhan (Zarina Wahab) forced leaves the village. Some how they find shelter in the city of Mumbai. Vijay Chauhan some how keeps the fire to go back to Mandwa and kill Kancha burning. While grow up in Mumbai,Vijay Chauhan's mother Suhasini delivers a girl and names her Shiksha. While he lives in Bombay Vijay Chauhan is attracted to Rauf Lala (Rishi Kapoor), a local underground gang leader who is also girl trafficker, drug lord and most importantly an anti of Kancha. Vijay Chahan testifies in favour of Rauf Lala and also city kills a cop. That leads him to  joine the gang by Rauf Lala. While all this happening Vijay's mother along with his baby sister Shikshaleaves Vijay because she thinks Vijay was wasted by the thought of taking revenge for his father's death in Mandwa village.


Vijay stay with Rauf Lala through the years, works for him. Vijay wins Rauf Lala trus and finds himself as a trusted worker for the drug lord. While doing all this Vijay also does several charity and community activities on the name of his sister. Once police inspector and now police commissioner, Gaitonde (Om Puri) acts as a silent guardian for Vijay Chauhan. Gaitonde also tries to eliminate crime in the Mumbai city. During the time when once only drug lord Rauf's influence over the drug business in Mumbai is slowly falling, Kancha decides to grow his influence as a drug lord in the city of Mumbai. Kanchan sends one of his key men over to Mumbai for this process. Vijay chauha with the help of the Mumbai police commissioner Gaitonde (Om Puri) disrupts this plan and is lauded by Lala. Vijay further gains the Lala trust by taking a gun  shot which was thought was aimed for Lala's son.  But is later revealed as a conspiracy plan made by  Vijay and Kancha's man. Vijay alos offers to help Kancha in expanding his drug business in the city Mumbai.


On the night of Mazhar Lala (Rajesh Tandon) marriage, he gets the information that the shot was actually fired by Kancha's man and along with Vijay leaves to end him in the process of which is shot dead by Kancha's man right in front of Vijay who just watch every thing happening infrot of him. But Vijay later shoots the killer to wipe out the evidence of their conspired plan. Lala from seeing his son dead admitted into a hospital unconscious. This leads to Vijay taking the place of Lala and stops all the crimes committed by Lala's gang. Kanchan offers him a del and invites him to Mandwa. He accepts Kancha's offer and goes to Mandwa to make the business deal. While in Mandwa,Vijay reveals his deal in front of Kancha which includes handing over the drug business in Mumbai over to Kancha and in return Vijay takes Mandwa business. Kancha initially suspects this deal, and refuses, later agrees on the condition that the police commissioner must be killed.


While all this happenging in Madawa back in Mumbai, Lala regains for the shock and come to know the truth behind his son's death.  Lala gets hold of Vijay's sister Shiksha (Kanika Tiwari) in Mumbai and calls fro public action for her sale. Kanchan inform this to Vijay  and he goes back to Mumbai and kills Lala.While this happening, Kancha sents a man to assasinate the commissioner. Suddenly Kanchan's man identifies Vijay as  son of the teacher killed by Kancha. He right away alerts Kancha. Vijay kill this man while trying to assasinate the commisioner. The police commisioner warns Vijay to be careful as Kancha posed him a big threat. Vijay then marries his love interest Kaali (Priyanka Chopra). Kanchan and his man kills Kaali right after their marriage during a shooting spree .


Vijay leaves for Mandwa to take revange for death of his father and his wife and on the otherhand, Kancha some how gets hold of Vijay's mother and sister and brings them to Mandwa. In the end Vijay takes stabbings from Kancha but kills Kancha by hanging him from the same tree to which his father Dinanath Chauhan was hanged. Finally, Vijay dies his mothers hands from the injuries.
